She Might be Smiling for the Camera but Meghan Markle is Reportedly Struggling Behind the Scenes

You would think that being associated with the Royal Family is all fun and games, but know that it isn’t. Sure, worldwide attention can be flattering, but it can also be overwhelming and frustrating because basically your moves, decisions, and appearances are watched by millions of people.

Add to that the countless rumors that swirl around you, as orchestrated by tabloids that don’t seem perturbed by protocols. Meghan Markle apparently has learned this lesson on her own after marrying Prince Harry and officially becoming a member of the influential clan.

Celebrity vs Royal Status

Interestingly, the Duchess was a former actress – best known for playing Rachel Zane in the hit legal-drama USA series Suits – so you would imagine her being comfortable with fame and spotlight.

You would also think that she had already known how the media was going to zoom in on her life once she was linked with a member of the royal family. But not even someone of her stature could have seen the storm that was about to shake her life.

The truth is, there’s nothing that could have prepared her for what was about to ensue; from countless speculations, online shaming and baffling rumors, Meghan’s world changed after her marriage to Prince Harry — and not all of it was for the better.

Even though she comes from an acting background, Meghan Markle is struggling with her newfound fame

Remember when baby Archie’s birth certificate showed Meghan Markle’s occupation as ‘Princess of United Kingdom’? Well, being a princess is no easy task, and it wouldn’t be an overstatement to call it a full-time job.

Besides, having to be prim and proper every time she steps out of her royal residence, a mother to baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and a loving wife to the Duke of Sussex, the Duchess must also keep a straight face while being photographed by paparazzi, and brave a storm of speculations and malicious gossips. This clearly doesn’t sound like a walk in the park.

According to a PEOPLE source, the new mom may be used to being a celebrity but the spotlight she was thrust into is on a whole new level.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry met the cast of The Lion King

Big Hint

The intensity was not what she was used to as an actress. When the Duke and the Duchess appeared on The Lion King red carpet, Meghan made a very cryptic statement that left fans guessing whether she was finding it hard to adjust to the newfound stardom. There she met Pharrell Williams, who said that their May 2018 union was very significant for him, to which the 37-year-old said they don’t make it easy.

It is unclear whom Meghan was referring to by her choice of the pronoun they but it got British tabloids assuming that she didn’t find becoming a member of the royal family a piece of cake. Last month, an insider also aired the same sentiment, saying the Duchess had been struggling with the press in the country.

Putting Privacy First

It is worth noting that the British press has been on her shoulders since she started dating the sixth in line to the throne. In fact, the media never failed to release new gossips and rumors about Meghan, which are sometimes too much to handle. Her decisions aren’t safe from prying eyes of the media either, as even her and Prince Harry’s move to keep details about their bundle of joy a secret was met with flak.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to remain private after the birth of their son

The happy couple decided to skip the introduction of Archie on the steps of Lindo Wing, a tradition that’s been followed by Kate Middleton for her three children with Prince William. The christening was also kept low-key, comparably private than the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
