Kylie Jenner’s Skincare Line in Trouble Once Again, This Time for a Very Strange Reason

Kylie Jenner is known for many things including her billion-dollar company called Kylie Cosmetics, which recently saw the launch of a new skincare line called Kylie Skin — and so far, it has been off to a rocky start.

Besides a slew of negative reviews and backlash over some of the ingredients in the products, CEO Kylie has found herself in a new controversy — and it’s about her face-washing technique!

Fans pounced on the 21-year-old after she published a 10-second video demonstration of herself using her Skin Foaming Face Wash.

Fans lamented on how Kylie Jenner doesn’t seem to know how to wash her face properly

In the clip, the makeup mogul was seen lathering the product onto her face and hastily washing it off within 10 seconds. Kylie’s fans argued that she should have wash her face for the recommended minimum of 30 seconds, if not a minute, to make sure she removed any residual makeup or dirt from her skin.

Furthermore, people noticed how she neglected washing some areas of her face. No wonder when she wiped her face dry with a towel, you could see that some of her foundation hadn’t washed off completely.

Despite the criticisms she received online, N.Y.C.’s renowned dermatologist spoke up to defend Jenner’s controversial facial cleansing method.

Customers’ Feedback

According to renowned N.Y.C. dermatologist,  Dr. Howard Sobel, it’s not necessary to cleanse your face for 30-60 seconds. However, he reiterates that someone like Kylie Jenner who wears a lot of makeup should wash her face for a little longer to ensure that all the product comes off. He recommends washing your face twice a day between 20-30 seconds to get optimum results.

Fans think Kylie Skin products aren’t worth the hype

He also noticed how Kylie had missed certain areas of her face in her facewash ‘tutorial’, which explained why there was still residual makeup on the towel when she used it to dry her face. If you’re exfoliating, then you should wash your face for about 60 seconds to remove any dirt or makeup.

The Doubt

Kylie Jenner’s fans also slammed the model when they noticed there was still some leftover foundation when she rinsed her face with a towel. The fans expressed their sentiments on Twitter stating Kylie’s Foaming Face Wash isn’t as effective as she paints it to be.

According to its description on the official website, the product can remove dirt, makeup, and oil but judging from Kylie’s video, fans think that it isn’t worth the money.

The Recommended Method

Meanwhile, Dr. Howard recommends applying a two-step method to cleanse your face thoroughly before going to bed. Dr. Howard says you can use oil cleansers since it can draw out pollutants like dirt, dust, sebum, and SPF. Furthermore, oil cleansers remove makeup effectively, and it’s safe to use for all skin types.

Dr. Howard also reveals the correct way to cleanse your face. According to him, you should start with the most problematic area of the skin and slowly work your way through the entire face.

He also recommends washing your face with lukewarm water and using a gentle cleanser, especially if you have sensitive skin. Don’t forget to clean your hairline too!

Kylie’s Defense

While Kylie Jenner has yet to respond on the controversy, her sister, Kim Kardashian, emerged online to defend her sister (yet again). Kim says the controversial video was a result of her playful banter when she grabbed her sister’s phone to tape her.

When she asked what Jenner can do in 10 seconds, the latter decided to wash her face. Kim reiterates washing your face for 10 seconds isn’t a big deal. The older Kardashian even says she only needs 3-5 seconds to do so. Thanks to Kylie’s Skincare product, she can now achieve fairer skin in a short time.
