When asked about her diet and workout routine, the singer simply brushed it off saying that she almost never exercises because of her busy schedule. Well, how exactly did she shed all those extra pounds?

With all the secrecy surrounding her recent weight loss, many fans are speculating that she may have resorted to quick-fixes like diet pills or detox teas, which may give results temporarily, but can be detrimental for health in the long run.

Clarkson is now finally breaking her silence on her diet regimen and here’s what the experts have to say about it.

The Controversy

In an exclusive interview, Kelly Clarkson finally spoke up against the rumors and clarified that she’s not taking any weight loss pills to shed excess weight. She also requested her fans to stop believing the fake news that tabloids were spreading about her.

The singer said that she read rumors that she takes four diet pills every day or does some unhealthy weight loss fad to get back in shape.

The claims appalled Clarkson and she was forced to make a statement, shutting down the false rumors about her. If anything, the singer has been following a very healthy diet designed by Dr. Stephen Gundry, author of The Plant Paradox.

Her weight loss transformation is simply remarkable!

The Plant Paradox Diet

According to Gundry, the plant paradox diet eliminates a type of plant protein called lectins from the diet to aid weight loss. It means the followers like Kelly Clarkson don’t get to eat beans, legumes, whole grains and vegetables containing lectin.

Dr. Gundry claims the natural protein found in plant-based foods like lectin is detrimental to one’s health. Several studies have concluded that lectins cause inflammation in our body, which trigger chronic disease and prevent weight loss.

Moreover, lectins are plants’ natural defense mechanism to prevent the animals and insects from eating them, making this protein unsafe for human consumption.

Is It Healthy?

While Kelly Clarkson didn’t outright recommend her diet to the public, some of her fans have expressed their interest in trying plant paradox diet. But before you actually try it out, the experts advise you to take a few things into consideration.

According to Dr. Keri Gans, the weight loss diet might have worked for Kelly Clarkson because she has a thyroid conditionHowever, eliminating lectin-based foods can be detrimental for a normal, healthy person.

Since the diet is highly restrictive, it can lead to food deprivation and nutrient deficiencies, weakening the immune system and causing a host of health problems.

The Recommendation

In the end, Dr. Gans reiterates restricting or eliminating an entire food group isn’t healthy nor sustainable in the long run.

Unless a registered dietitian recommends the diet to you because of a specific condition, there is no reason to choose this regimen over other weight loss methods.

If you have an autoimmune disease or severe medical condition, it’s best to consult with your doctor first and follow a safe diet to manage your weight and symptoms.
