Are You a Millennial? Follow These Rules to Become a Millionaire at 30

Everyone dreams of becoming a millionaire someday. When one is rich, he or she can afford anything without worrying about drained pockets. It is, therefore, wise to save and spend your money wisely if you want to achieve this dream.

However, in the modern digital world, the perspective of the young generation—also known as millennials—has changed significantly. Today, millennials want more to make an impression that they are rich instead of working to being rich. Most of them love to flaunt their wealth and fortunes on social media instead of striving to be successful in life. If you are one of them and are struggling to break the norm so as to be rich and successful, we offer you these life rules that you should follow to become a millionaire at or before you reach the age 30.

Know Your Priorities

Millennials have little concentration span and are prone to distraction, which makes them deviate away from their priorities and goals in life. For instance, they are easily tempted to impulsively buy something the moment they see it on social media because they want to move with the trend.

If your line of thinking is like this,  you need to be serious. Get a notebook and jot down all the priorities you have in life and stick it where you can see it almost all the time. The note will serve as your constant reminder that instead of living the moment, there is much more to achieve. You have to sacrifice some of the leisures today to have a better tomorrow.

In 2002, I was only a junior in high school,” wrote entrepreneur and author Dale Partridge on his blog The Daily Positive. “But I was also very clear on what I wanted life to look like by 30. Where I would live, if I would be married and have children, whether I would attend college or start a business, what type of freedom I would have and more.”

Start Tracking Your Expenses

[su_quote class=”cust-pagination”] “In today’s economic environment, you cannot save your way to millionaire status. The first step is to focus on increasing your income in increments and repeating that. My income was $3,000 a month, and nine years later it was $20,000 a month.”— Grant Cardone [/su_quote]

The main reason why most people are broke is that they feel like they will never have enough money at hand. While that could be true—money will never be enough, anyway—complaining about how low your salary is will never help.

What you need is scale up your budgeting skills. Start by listing down all your monthly expenses so as to know exactly how much you spend on what. Cut down on what you do not need, and you’ll be surprised by just how much money you will be saving.

Be Productive

You already have the mindset to achieve your goals. Now it is time to put your plan into action. This may seem challenging to accomplish because there are many obstacles on the way. For instance, think about your friends inviting you for several night outs and travel galores here and there. These may derail you.

However, instead of entertaining them, do activities that are productive, the ones that will bring you closer to your goals. Attend seminars, training sessions, and symposiums that are in line with your passion. Also, expand your professional network and learn from them. These productive activities will help you learn more about how you can work towards the realization of your goals.
