It’s not easy to buy fish, considering how perishable it is. In fact, most consumers argue that the most difficult thing about buying fish is worrying about cooking it before it goes bad! Plus let’s not forget the hefty price tag that fish comes with.
Thankfully, there’s frozen fish
Plus you’ll be surprised that not only does frozen fish last longer, but also has innumerable benefits. As a matter of fact, it has been noted time and time again that frozen fish has a significantly lower carbon footprint compared to the unfrozen kind. Surprisingly, frozen fish has also been noted to be far superior in terms of quality to the ‘fresh stuff’ that is transported by air.

There’s been a lot of negativity surrounding frozen fish; particularly that it’s not as healthy as the unfrozen kind. On the contrary, frozen fish has been known to retain most of its flavor and freshness.
That being said, why are Americans so reluctant to buy frozen fish? It all boils down to a misconception. There’s this innate belief that anything frozen must have stayed in that state for months, hence all the freshness and flavor seeped through the ice a long time ago!
This is far from the contrary
In fact, frozen seafood, particularly fish, offers immense benefits that many are mission out on! So here are some of the reasons why you should incorporate frozen fish regularly into your diet.
Contains a large concentration of omega 3 fatty acids which aid in brain development
The most documented benefit of frozen fish is that it is highly enriched with Omega 3 fatty acids. While eggs and other meat products might contain a notable concentration of Omega 3 fatty acids, fish by far carry the highest concentration

This ensures you meet your daily dietary recommendation of these vital minerals. Moreover, frozen fish is a great source of Vitamin B and thus, lowers the possibility of suffering from a heart attack.

Has a high concentration of that healthy cholesterol

This is the case when you consume seafood, particularly frozen fish that has considerably low-fat content. As a matter of fact, most fat in fish is unsaturated. Hence, consuming fish is guaranteed to give you a healthier heart!
That being said, you shouldn’t shy away from frozen fish in the freezer when you hit the grocery store. By all means, include them in your weekly diet!
