Try waking up without the help of an alarm clock for a more peaceful morning

Now that we have established the first major ingredient to wellness, we should also reprogram our brain that becoming healthy is a lifestyle, not a temporary solution to weight loss. Most people stop exerting efforts, especially when they achieve the body that they want. That is why some people end up gaining back the weight they lost. And lastly, we have to tell ourselves that it gets better because it really does. Sticking to a healthy lifestyle can be challenging at first, but we have to give our body an adjustment period and after that, it’ll just be a walk in the park.

So what is a usual daily routine of a healthy person? Stick to this article and find out.

Lemon Water

Start the day with a cup of warm lemon water. Refrain from drinking cold drinks first thing in the morning since it can totally shock our systems. Warm lemon water will give a low-intensity wake-up call to our body and the lemon helps in jumpstarting our metabolism.

Stretch and Exercise

Stretching after a good rest will awaken our sleeping muscles. Always remember to stretch or have a warm-up before going into a workout. This helps the muscle to prepare for an intense physical work-out. It also helps avoid strains and muscle pains. Cooldown is also as important as stretching. Our body needs to transition slowly and cutting the activity abruptly can cause sores and injuries.

Don’t Skip Meals

Breakfast is a good source of energy for an anticipated long day. Contrary to popular belief, eating like a king at breakfast is not that healthy. Our body just went into hibernation and waking it up with heavy foods will do no good. We have to give it time to adjust that is why it’s better to eat more during lunch. This is also the time of day when our metabolism is functioning at its fastest.

Starving the self will only cause more harm than good. People who are not accustomed to eating breakfast are not coerced to have one. Also, make sure to eat dinner two hours before bedtime. This gives the body enough time to digest the last meal before resting when we sleep. The major take away on this is to feed the body when it gets hungry and feed it right.

Just Add Water

Water is the essential need of the body, and it is a sin not to hydrate. Not hydrating well can lead to unhealthy skin and body. Water also helps flush out the toxins in our body, all the more reason to drink it. Fill up a tumbler and have a scheduled water break. Make sure to reach the goal of drinking 1-2 liters of water a day, and our future self will thank us for it.

Relax

Relaxing at the end of the night is something we shouldn’t be guilty of. Take even just 15 minutes from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. to just breathe and meditate. Take this time to assess what happened throughout the day, tick off the to-do list one by one, and write new goals for the next day. Having a healthy time alone, with no internet and TV can boost mental alertness. Always make time for a ‘me time’.

Sleep before 11:00 p.m.

This is a goal that we should aim for. Seven to eight hours of sleep every day will help us recover and recharge for the next day ahead. Try sleeping in a darkened room so that our body will not get mixed signals from the light. Sleeping in the dark makes our rest more fulfilling and satisfying.

Maintain all these habits and life will be stress-free.
