However, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson proved that you can hide things from prying eyes and ears of the media when he secretly wed his long-time girlfriend Lauren Hashian on August 18 in a stunning beachside wedding in Hawaii — who saw that coming?

Celebrity weddings are usually big news, which means they are usually front-page material for the media with exclusive photos and inside scoops worth thousands of dollars. So, couples who manage to keep the details of the affair under wraps must be lauded for keeping their privacy paramount.

In the most recent example, it is quite interesting how The Rock managed to have an intimate ceremony without anyone noticing it, considering how successful he is – proof being his top spot on Forbes’ highest-paid actor list for this year.

The former wrestler shared two photos on social media, explaining that they exchanged vows, also mentioning the word “Pomaika’i” in the caption, which means “blessed.”

Dwayne rocked a white-on-white ensemble: a chic dress shirt tucked in white trousers from Ralph Lauren’s Purple Label. Lauren looked absolutely ethereal in her Mira Zwillinger couture wedding gown, a Chantilly lace dress with a plunging neckline and a low back that accentuated her slim figure.

The ceremony can be described as dreamy or, in the groom’s words: phenomenal. The couple exchanged Anita Ko bands while delivering their vows against the Instagram-worthy ocean.

Rumors

This came a month after rumors spread that they secretly tied the knot, which the Jumanji actor vehemently denied and said that they weren’t in a rush to get married.

The Rock explained that he always refers to Lauren as his “wife,” which got people confused and speculating whether they had already tied the knot in secret.

Last year, the 47-year-old also hinted that a wedding might be on the horizon but he wasn’t sure when it would happen. The Baywatch star revealed at the time that they were supposed to get married in spring but Lauren got pregnant so the ceremony had to be postponed.

Love Story

The songwriter and the actor met in 2006 when Dwayne was filming The Game Plan and began dating a year later. He was formerly married to bodybuilder Dany Garcia, with whom he has an 18-year-old daughter, Simone. They split amicably in 2007 after a decade and in fact, his ex-wife became his manager.
