This is How You Can Make Your Long Distance Relationship More Solid and Interesting!
Can a long distance relationship work? That might just be the question you’re asking yourself now as your significant other plans to take a trip abroad for a couple of months. Whether it is work or family related, it can become pretty sad and boring to be left all alone without anyone to talk to.
That being said, there is a strong belief that long distance relationships can be quite difficult to maintain. On the contrary, this misplaced belief comes from the fact that the media has brainwashed us via tv shows to believe so.
However, this does not mean that a long distance relationship does not require plenty of input to make the relationship work. In fact, here are some of the ways in which long distance relationships can be effectively handled to ensure that both partners do not loose psych and commitment to the relationship.
Communicate Frequently
Each of you has to put in concerted effort to communicate frequently with their partner. As a matter of fact, both of you should ensure that the communication never ever dies down, especially if the setup of the long distance relationship is of the physical kind.
It is advisable that you and your partner should communicate at least four times every day, and each of you should make sure that one of these communication sessions should be via video call.
This way, both of you can ensure that the loneliness resulting from the lack of a physical presence can be dismissed from the mind.
Work on Your Virtual Intimacy
In a relationship that is missing that physical closeness and intimacy, it is paramount that individuals share their intimacy online. Each of you should synchronize your watches and look for the most opportune moments to share your intimacy.
You can select a quiet room in your home, lock the door especially if you have kids or living with a member of your family, and begin your session.
Additionally, during these sessions, ensure that you communicate with one another and are open to trying new things. This is to keep things spicy and to further feel and intensify the connection that the two of you have.
That being said, the both of you should dedicate days out of your busy schedules to do this.
Apart from video call sessions, the two of you should also dedicate some time to text flirtatiously with one another to make the intimacy more compelling and enjoyable.
Save for a Trip on a Regular Basis
Is your significant other is working in another country, they might be away for months, even years. Hence, the boredom can be pretty real. To spice things up, you can take it upon yourself to save up some money to go visit them.
As a matter of fact, the both of you can organize it in such a way that you can open a savings account and direct some of your income towards making the trip to their new place, and see exactly how they are living.
Learn to Understand and Trust Them
One of the biggest mistakes people make is not trusting their partners whenever they miss to take a call or are unavailable. In fact, when one partner begins to show jealousy early on, it can pose a red flag towards the success of the relationship.
As a matter of fact, you will unknowingly be sabotaging the relationship, causing your significant other to run into the arms of another individual.
So as a rule of thumb, do not distrust your partner, even if it seems they have become increasingly available. Perhaps they are being overwhelmed by work at the office. Plus you will only serve to make matters worse by piling more stress on them. They might explode on you, or decide to blow some steam in the arms of another person!
Accept That They Might Change
The person that left four years ago is certainly not the same person that you are still in a relationship with. You have to understand that as time passes, your partner evolves. This could be due to the sudden change in lifestyle that he or she is currently experiencing. Hence, you should accept the changes, embrace them, and appreciate your partner for who they are!
