The actress has always been in the spotlight for one reason or the other. While before the public scrutinized her for being ‘overweight’, now that she has dropped a few dress sizes, fans can’t help but wonder how Winter leaned down so quickly.

Did she hire a personal trainer to push her in the gym or is her weight loss a result of a restrictive diet? Winter finally breaks her silence and reveals that she didn’t plan to lose weight at all! It turns out her sudden weight loss was a side-effect of taking this medication!

The Medication

Winter recently revealed the real reason behind her sudden weight loss to fans and followers through her Instagram Stories. The renowned actress revealed that her noticeably slimmer waist was due to the switch she made in the antidepressants she is taking.

Winter had been on antidepressants for years now as she battles for her mental health. Coincidentally, the medication she took before made her gain weight which is also one of the reasons why the actress was struggling to drop some pounds back then.

The Switch

In a separate post, Winter also shared how she had been in therapy for the past six years. The reason why it took her so long to change medications was that she struggled with severe mental illness which required her to take stronger antidepressants.

While the pills did help Winter cope with depression, she was left fighting off the medication’s side effects that included weight gain.

Winter felt like she wasn’t prepared to go through the arduous process again, so she merely accepted her fate. The renowned actress came to terms with the fact that she’s going to put on some weight as long as she takes antidepressants.

However, sometime last year Winter truly felt that she was sick of feeling conscious of her own body, so she took a leap of faith to switch her antidepressants. She consulted with her physicians to change her prescribed medicine and was shocked by the immediate results she saw.

The Scrutiny

Being in the spotlight constantly comes with a lot of pressure to look good, especially for female celebrities who are scrutinized over their physical appearance whether they’re slim or not.

When Winter was still on the heavier side, she got called out for wearing clothes too small for her. Then when she lost the weight, a different batch of trolls started commenting on her appearance, saying that the dramatic weight loss doesn’t suit her. But Winter understands that she can’t please everybody so she’s doing what she thinks is best for her.

While the renowned actress said some commenters were only expressing their genuine concern over her wellbeing, she urges everyone to be careful of what they say to others online.

According to Winter, you may accidentally insult someone or discourage them from continuing on their weight loss journey. But no matter what anyone else says, we’re happy for Winter and completely support her goal is to gain more muscle and achieve a stronger and leaner body in the future.
