The INSANE Training Routine Behind Brie Larson’s Marvelous Superhero Body
Since the heartbreaking and epic cliffhanger in the Avengers: Infinity War, millions of Marvel fans all over the world anticipate to watch the latest movie, Captain Marvel to see how this female superhero will save the day, or the universe rather, from the evil genius, Thanos.
As the second highly-anticipated Marvel film next to Avengers: Endgame, hit the theaters a couple of weeks ago, its avid fans couldn’t help but gush over the movie (we’ll leave that for another story). Aside from Brie Larson’s stunning portrayal, they’re also interested in how the renowned actress maintained her gorgeous physique for the highly-acclaimed female superhero. How did Brie Larson retain her marvelous body? Let’s read and find out.
The Intense Training
A few weeks after the movie release of the highly-anticipated Captain Marvel, several videos have popped up in the internet revealing Brie Larson’s intense training to keep her body fit and healthy as she prepared for the filming. One video showed how the actress pushed a four-wheel drive with a full tank of gas using only her bare strength!
Larson’s face twisted in exhaustion and exertion as her back braced against the chassis and she gathered all her strength to tackle the 5000 lbs. beast! Despite her difficulty, the fans noticed how her trainer, Jason Walsh, was cheering her on to keep her going. Despite her grueling routine, the renowned actress couldn’t help but be prouder of her progress.
The Commitment
Aside from pushing the heavy Jeep, Larson also went into a couple of martial arts, 400-pound hip thrusts, 215-pound deadlifts, and judo sessions with her workout team. For the first six months, Larson trained for an hour and a half every single day. Then she increased her workout time up to four hours daily for the last three months of her shooting. Aside from the grueling workout, Larson also meditated many times to emulate Captain Marvel’s character to understand her better and portray her well into her acting.
The Victory
Despite her immense success both in the film and her training, Larson remembered how she nearly gave up once. She recalled how she was crying and pushing herself to the limits while working out. There were moments where she ended up curled in a ball on the floor as her tears ran down and she begged for everything to stop. Larson felt as if she’s in the same boat as Carol. However, like the superhero Captain Marvel is, Larson found herself getting back up again, getting stronger until she overcame it and finished the film.
When Fleck and the cast learned of her training videos, the renowned director expressed their worries over Larson’s wellbeing. According to him, they didn’t want her to end up getting sick or injured due to her intense training. However, she proved them wrong, and her workout gave out stunning results as she looks so cool while shooting some photon blasts from her hands.
